WMS Mural Completed!

Washington Middle School Mural Completed!

Students and members of the community created this new mural at Washington Middle School during July 2018. Spearheaded and funded by Healthy Youth Central Area Network,  painting happened every week day at Washington Middle School, and was facilitated by artist and Washington Middle School & Garfield High School alum Gabrielle Abbott.  Gabrielle worked with the students during the school year to come up with the concepts for the mural. She was also on hand to guide the painting process and provide materials. Over 100 students and members of the community worked on the mural, the concept originated with the theme, the Hero's Journey by Joseph Campbell.
